We are renting a small, but very nice and cozy, unit in West Edmonton Village. One of the advantages of our place is that there are bus stops nearby. We try to make our learners feel welcome and safe. Most of our learners work hard all day before coming to class, so we provide hot tea and biscuits so they can feel more relaxed and are better able to concentrate on learning English. We have potlucks to celebrate statutory holidays and share recipes, organize year-end picnics, and go on whole day trips to museums in Alberta; this is not only useful in helping our students learn English and about Canadian history and landmarks in Alberta, but it also allows them to know each other better and form great friendships.
